What’s happened to Oriflame’s Hydra Energy Range?

The Hydra Energy range was discontinued by Oriflame in the UK in early 2009. Hydra energy was known for how well hydrated it made the skin feel whilst at the same time it didn’t feel heavy on the skin. However, if you were looking for a product from the range there is good news as Oriflame UK have introduced the Optimals Oxygen Boost range as a replacement for Hydra Energy.

A closer look at the Optimals Oxygen Boost™ Range

Overview – ‘Optimals Oxygen Boost™ Range targets dull and polluted skin which needs oxygenated and deep hydration to help reveal a healthy-looking, pure complexion. The range is especially recommended for women living in towns and cities whose skin is subjected to the harmful effects of the urban environment.'*

Target Market – All ages with 25-35 being the core target group along with previous users of the Hydra Energy range.
Optimals Oxygen Boost™ Cream – helps to deeply moisturise the skin.
Optimals Oxygen Boost™ Face Mask – helps to rejuvenate the skin.
Optimals Oxygen Boost™ Capsules – helps the skin to breathe while leaving it moisturised. Contains natural yeast extract, amino-acids and peptides to helps improve oxygen absorption and protect against aging.
Optimals Oxygen Boost™ Eye Cream – helps to relieve the eye area from dehydration, puffiness and dark circles. Also contains Caffeine Extract.
Optimals Oxygen Boost™ Face Mist – Can even be used over make-up.

Oriflame Full Moon - New range & fragrance coming soon

Oriflame Full Moon for Him
Oriflame Full Moon is an exciting new product range consisting of a number of totally new products including a fabulous all new fragrance for men and one for women. My interpretation of the concept behind Full Moon is a man and woman meeting in an exotic garden alongside a tranquil beach on a beautiful evening where the spell of the full moon draws them together.

Offical samples of the fragrance are not yet available so I have only been able to sample Full Moon for Her from a tester page in the next Oriflame catalogue. It is quite difficult to be exact but it appears to be a light, gentle scent which has notes of Peach Blossom, Neroli, a trail of Vanilla Orchid, Night Blooming Gardenia and Jasmine. The latter two notes seem the perfect choice to accompany the fragrance concept of sensuality on a summer evening under a full moon.

Oriflame Full Moon for Her
Available from Oriflame catalogue 5 UK the range includes;
  • Full Moon Body Cream
  • Full Moon Soap Bar
  • Full Moon Anti-perspirant
  • Full Moon For Her Eau de Toilette
  • Full Moon For Him Eau de Toilette
  • Full Moon Hair and Body Wash for Him

Which Oriflame concealer should I use? - Part 1

You only have to flick open a catalogue to find various different concealers in both liquid and solid formations, they come in sticks, palettes and tubes, so over the next few days we hope to provide some useful information as to what each of the concealers can be used for.

Today we are looking at concealers for blemishes and imperfections.

Oriflame Beauty Dual Skin Corrector
Used for - camouflaging blemishes and imperfections.
This product also treats the blemishes it covers as the inner core contains tea tree oil and aloe vera to help heal the skin. The outer core comes in 3 shades; Light, Medium and Dark, so hopefully you can find a shade which best matches your skin tone. RRP £6.75.

Very Me Cover Up Concealer
Used for - Covering blemishes.
Similar to the above concealer, this product also contains tea tree oil, it is much smaller, only weighing 1g and would be the recommended product for a smaller budget as it has a RRP of £3.45 but can often be found for under £3.00 when it is on special offer. It is also available in 2 shades; Perfect Light & Dark Secret.

Pure Nature Tea Tree & Rosemary Purifying Corrective Stick
Used for - Treating & covering redness and imperfections.
This product is primarily sold as a treatment for imperfections, it contains tea tree oil and rosemary oil which helps to purify and dry out problem areas, but the green shade also tones down the redness, which can then be concealed with the beige shade. This product is only available in 1 shade so it may be difficult to match it to your skin tone, but probably provides more treatment than the above concealers. RRP £4.75.

Oriflame Beauty 3-in-1 concealer kit
Used for - Neutralising redness, imperfections & all round concealer.
I would consider this product to be the most useful if your are looking for a good all round concealer and it's the perfect size to pop into your handbag should you need a touch up while your are out.
Green concealer - Neutralises redness and helps to camouflage redness.
Yellow concealer - Covers dark circles and can be used to reduce the appearance of dark spots.
Beige concealer - All-round concealer and can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and scars.
With a RRP £8.45, I would recommend waiting until this product is on special offer.

Oriflame Tea Tree Blemish Solver

The final product from Oriflame's old Tea Tree range has been updated and added to the current catalogue. It is now called Pure Nature Organic Tea Tree & Rosemary Purifying Blemish Solver code: 21347, and from it's name you can see that the product still contains the original key ingredient - Tea Tree oil, known for it's anitbacterial properties. The newley added Rosemary oil not only contains antioxidant properties, but also helps to dry out the blemishes which means the product can be worn under make-up. However, from personal experience I've found this product to be most effective when applied directly to clean skin (i.e. no make-up) at night.

What's happened to Oriflame's Blush Touch Duo?

Blush Touch Duo codes 12407, 12408 and 12409 were discontinued in December 2010. Our recommended replacement product is the new Oriflame Beauty Perfect Blush (below). This comes in a slimmer compact, but still has a mirror and is available in three shades - Fresh Pink 21649, Classic Rose 21650 and Glowing Peach 21651.
If you missed the launch of the product earlier in the month, here are a few ideas on how to use the new product to create different looks -

'High Cheekbones: Draw a line from the middle of the ear to the corner of your lips, using a sharp edge on your brush (created by squeezing the bristles together). Use an upward sweeping motion to shape and blend from the line already created for a smooth, highlight effect.

The Perfect Shape: Use blush in different ways to get the perfect shape and balance for your face. Faceline: Narrow your face shape by adding a dash of blush on the temples of your face. Jawline: Apply blush just under your jawline to enhance your natural shape, and make your jawline look very sharp and defined. Eye: For a more contoured and open-eye look, add a touch of blush just below your browbone so your eyes become more distinct.

Health Fresh Glow: Smiling is the best way to exaggerate the cheek's apple. A gentle tapping motion, and using an irregular pattern, will colour the cheeks as required and helps avoid an unnatural end result.'*
